Threads update

A (very) small update this week with a few extra threads for the shop.

Limited quantity of Random threads collections

What’s currently in the shop is all I have until later in the spring, so when it’s gone it’s gone.

silk threads, limited quantities remaining

I hope to have a dyeing day next month – or even later this month, if we get lucky with the weather. I need good light and a couple of decent drying days, so let’s see what the weather gods bring us. After dyeing it’ll be a few weeks of winding and labelling skeins, so I’m aiming for new thread in the shop by late March/early April.

In the meantime I’m finding time for a few quilting/couching/stitching lines on the quilt.

Hope your week is going well.

  1. As a quilter, I am in awe! I have done a lot of hand quilting, but never anything like that. My daily stitching going well; we had rain on Sunday so I did your rain drops. I finally wound all the threads I bought from you onto little cards (did buy those although I was intrigued by your method); now the thread is sorted by color. Is there anything more upsetting than finishing a line of stitching and realizing you have sewn through a piece of fabric on the reverse? I know you always recommend laying it out on a table, but I do like sitting on the sofa. Thanks for updates and videos. I continue to be inspired.

    1. I used to do a lot of hand quilting many years ago and just thought I’d try something a bit different. Liking it so far. It’s so satisfying to wind and arrange threads neatly isn’t it? And if it’s any consolation, I have on occasion stitched the cloth to my skirt when working on it in the evenings, and yes, it’s really annoying! You can see why I mostly stitch at a table… A small flat board is very useful when lap stitching.
