July 2026 daily stitching

July, detail

The last day of July today, and time seems to be flying even faster than usual. As always, I’ve been catching a few moments of each day and stitching them down. Time is life, and the most precious thing we have.

July 2026

You can see some of the daily blocks for this month in the July playlist on my You Tube channel.

Summer is probably my least favourite season overall, but I’ve enjoyed using a brighter colour palette. I have a new collection of hand-dyed threads in summer/early autumn colours in my shop (sorry, UK-only shipping for now).

July has been very challenging, personally, but I am focusing on one day at a time and placing stitches like footsteps. Eventually the path will lead to a quieter calmer place.

And tomorrow, August begins. It’s intriguing to think that all those blank spaces will be full in just thirty-one days’ time.

August ahead

I hope you’re enjoying your own daily stitching adventure, if you’ve embarked on such a thing. If nothing else, it provides a little quiet breathing space in a busy day.

Have a lovely weekend, and happy stitching.

  1. Hi Karen, I have enjoyed your daily stitching very much. As I\’m late to start this year\’s, looking forward to doing one next year. Can you tell me what size your squares are. Please?

With gratitude for making me smile every day. Maggie

    Cheers, Maggie

    1. thank you Maggie, I’m glad you’re looking forward to beginning something similar – though you can start any time: July to June is still a year. My templates will fit on about a yard square, but if you’re designing your own template you can make the daily blocks any size you like.

  2. Thank you so much for providing this daily inspiration that I see on your Instagram and also for the recordings on YouTube. I really enjoy stitching while I’m watching and listening to your descriptions as you work. I am stitching along, usually with stitches of my own design. I agree with the sentiment that life seems to be accelerating. I am grateful for the few minutes of peace that I have every day with the lovely template you designed.

    1. Not quite sure why my comment has such an inscrutable name? I’m Jane, from Washington State in the U.S. janequiltsslowly on Instagram.

      1. Aha! Always welcome to see who everyone is 🙂 I *think* (and I’m guessing) that if you opted to hide your email address when you subscribed, the system scrambles your id. But thank you Jane, good to hear from you ❤️

    2. That’s so kind, thank you. I’m very happy that you’re enjoying a few moments of quiet stitching every day; I find it therapeutic too.

  3. Beautiful work as always Karen. I’m sure your daily stitching is helping you through the challenges you’re facing right now. Stay strong and thank you for generously sharing your work both here and On YouTube. It always brightens my day to see the eclectic mix of stitches and threads that you turn into such amazing designs.

    Fiona.

    1. Thank you 🙂 It will be worse, I expect, but I’ll be very happy to be wrong! Hoping 2027 might be a bit more manageable… 🤞🏻
